Poppy’s Chassis Armor is a single pack moisture cure urethane that is designed to prevent or stop rust. It can be either brushed, rolled, or sprayed. Our Chassis Armor is a high performance coating designed for application directly on rust or seasoned metal surfaces; it will form a complete waterproof barrier to stop rust immediately. *Do not open can until you are ready to use*
*Do not apply if the temperature is below 50°F*
*Do not paint directly from the Chassis Armor can*
*Do not shake, stir from bottom to top when adding thinner*

Prepping the Surface

  • Remove all loose paint or rust with a coarse wire brush or Heavy Duty Red Scuff
  • Pad.
  • Do not attempt to remove ALL rust before applying.
  • Clean surface of oil and grease with our Degreaser.
  • Rinse surface thoroughly and allow to completely dry.

Brushing and Rolling Application

  • When brushing or rolling, open container and pour a workable amount into the provided 32oz Plastic Container then immediately seal Chassis Armor can to preserve shelf life.
  • With the provided 2” 50.8mm Chip Brush, paint onto desired surface.
  • Make sure surfaces that you do not want product on are masked off.
  • Do not pour leftover product back into container, as it will shorten shelf life.

Spray Application

  • For spray application, thin our Chassis Armor with Xylene or other appropriate thinners 10:1 (10 parts Chassis Armor 1 part thinner). Stir from top to bottom after adding thinner.
  • Thinning adds VOC content - check your local regulations.
  • Immediately seal Chassis Armor can after pouring out to preserve shelf life.
  • Apply paint over clean surfaces for best finish.
  • Do not pour leftover product back into container, as it will shorten shelf life.

Cure Time

  • 3-4 hours dry to the touch
  • 5-6 hours to tack free
  • 24 hours to full cure

Re-coating

  • For best results, additional coats should be applied within 12 hours of first coat.
  • Additional coats can be added after 12 hours as long as surface is scuffed/scoured to a rough texture.

Shelf Life

  • One year shelf life in a temperature controlled environment.
