Application Instructions

PREPARATION:

1. Clean with Pre-Cleaner
2. Clean with Wax & Grease Remover

MIXING:
Shake or stir thoroughly.

Mix by volume:
4 Parts Hot Rod Black | 1 Part Catalyst | 1 Part Uni-Solv


APPLICATION:

  • Set air pressure to: 40 - 45 psi for non-HVLP
  • 8 - 10 psi at the cap for HVLP equipment


1. Use a gun equipped with a 1.3 - 1.4 nozzle. Spray one medium-wet coat keeping the gun 5 - 7" from the
substrate and minimum overlap of 75%. Allow to flash dry, approximately 10 – 15 minutes.
2. Spray a second identical medium-wet coat and allow an additional 30 minutes before baking for 30 minutes at 120°F (49°C), or air dry for 16 hours.

 

Note: Always spray a test panel to ensure desired gloss level. Variations in application, temperature, and gun set up
can affect the final gloss of Hot Rod Black.
Do not recoat after panel has been baked or air-dried without first sanding with P400 – 600 grit.

CARE:

  • Do not buff or polish. When washing is necessary, use a mild soap and dry immediately with a soft cloth or chamois. To detail, use a microfiber or other soft towel and a dedicated matte finish spray wax or detailer. Always test in an inconspicuous area first.

CLEANUP:

  • Use appropriate cleaning materials compliant with VOC regulations in your area.
