Instructions for use and Technical Information
General Information
- Ideal application temperature is 75ºF with humidity of less than 60%. Poppy's Spray Truck Bed Liner can be applied in direct sunlight at temperatures of 100ºF without danger of solvent pop or blistering. Pot life is at least 50 min. at 90ºF.
- Mix and use product in a well-ventilated area.
- Use appropriate respiratory protection.
- Wear gloves.
- Wear eye protection.
Coverage and Shelf Life
- Practical coverage: 90-100 sq. ft. per 4 quart kit @ 15 mil.
- One kit will cover a full size long bed truck @ 15 mil.
- Shelf life: 12 months@ 72 Degrees Fahrenheit.
Surface Preparation
- Clean surface to be coated with wax and grease remover.
- Remove all loose paint and rust. Use an epoxy primer or etching primer on bare metal, Sand with 180 grit paper and remove all dust particles after sanding.
- Mask all areas not to be coated.
Mixing and Application Procedure
- Ratio is 3:1. Each can of the A side is short filled to allow the addition of the catalyst. Fill each A can with 8 oz. of the "B" can. Replace cap and shake vigorously for 2 min. Remove cap and attach to Schutz gun.
- On clear base kits, add 3 oz, of basecoat tint or single stage tint before adding catalyst. Replace lid and shake vigorously for 2 min. or until a uniform color is achieved. Then fill with catalyst and shake for an additional 2 min.
- Remove cap and attach to Schutz gun and apply product.
- Use Schutz-type gun @ 40-70 psi. Apply to back and sides of bed first. Spray to hide and allow to flash.
- THEN apply texture coat by backing up from surface. Proceed to bed floor and repeat what was done on sides. For best results apply coverage coat to floor and then texture from standing outside the truck. For more texture use lower pressure and allow longer flash time before applying texture coat. Clean gun with lacquer thinner. Unmask vehicle within 30-45 min. Vehicle can be delivered in four to six hours. Full cure in 48 hours.
